When it comes to milsurp I'm serdiously hesitant to order online unless there are pictures of the particular rifle I'm being sent. Hopefully it was only $200 in which case it's a beater

At the end of the day its a $200 ish dollar surplus rifle. I would never buy one sight unseen but that's just me. If the condition was not as advertised I would call then and see if they could help you out. I cant imagine a company ripping apart sks after sks to grade them.

Well, when you by old milsurp on the internet you are taking your chances. Most retailers I have seen make no guarantees about the condition of SKS's they sell. In any event, if you're unhappy with it contact them.

Dear Mr M1,
just a suggestion, but clean that beater up and shoot it anyway, many of the Russian SKS with replaced barrels are quite accurate (with good ammo) 1/2 inch MOA is attainable with reloads.

Then, if you are still keen on SKS', check out West Rifle, you won't be disappointed and you will receive the rifle you order. I have bought several from them and have never been disappointed. All the best to you in 2019 and onward.

Call them, send it back! Don't be afraid of online purchases, but pictures are a good Idea, you can get a better idea of what to expect, however, if they said it was supposed to be very good then they should take it back and send a better one!

Uh oh, Mr M1,
my apologies ... looks like what Al warned about came to pass ... he's out. I see that Frontier Firearms has some, however, and I bought some from him also, very good to deal with. So, I'll be crawling back under my rock now, doing some reloading in this weather. In any event, don't give up, clean 'er up and slap on a Tapco stock, & have fun.

Could we see a pic of the firearm in question? I have a beater with a brown tinge in places but its the stunt double for all my nice ones and is an important part of my SKS harem.

I bought a refurbished SKS Carbine from Epps through the mail order....It was advertised as Very Good condition , the ad photo was of a lovely looking SKS , but the gun I received is not the one in the photo , Fair condition at best.. Light rust coating over much of the gun , the butt plate and rear sling swivel is heavily rusted , butt trap does not operate , the recoil spring was badly rusted - concerned about it breaking under recoil.

Not recommended , I will not be purchasing any more through their mail order...Very dissappointed.

Used car salesmen call this the bait and switch, advertise one vehicle and sell the customer a different one. As always it’s buyer beware.
