The Perenia was not a great seller for Beretta and they didn't make them for long before discontinuing them in 2014 and incorporating some of the features into the 692. The larger trunion lugs and self tightening fore end are an improvement over the 686/7's but the drop out trigger and Q stock are questionable improvements. Not that the triggers are bad in fact the pull's are very nice but I'm not so sure that anyone ever asked for one on a field gun. The Q stocks did have a reputation for coming loose and causing problems so you need to keep an eye on them but it's a great feature for drying out the gun if you are out in the rain. Also, Beretta did put some real wood stocks on the Perenia's but I think most of them are fake grain finish, that may or may not be a show stopper for you. The selectable ejectors work very nice but they do have some problems, particularly if you don't keep them clean and lubed.
As for price, they cost more new than a 686 but I don't think they've held the value as well. On a barely used grade 1 in great condition I'd say it should be under $2k and well under that if you don't want to get beat up too bad selling it in a couple of years.
