I use winchester large magnum pistol primers. They're just what the store gave me the first time and they seem to work well. That's for my 45acp glock.

The type of powder you will use is one factor to consider, you may or may not choose a magnum type large pistol primer. Another thing to consider is how hard the firing pin on your gun strikes the primer. If it strikes lightly, you might lean towards a softer primer such as Federal. Different primers in conjunction with a given powder/bullet combo may give slightly better accuracy results.

I use the Federals in my PPC 38
Winchester Magnums for both large and small pistol, I would go with the magnums for 45LC, a friend of mine has been using them with WIN 231 and no problems.

Federal 215 magnum rifle primers. I use them in everything and I'm reloading 30/30, 300win mag, 44mag, and 45ACP. No problems as yet and very few duds.
