really? and now why is that. there are no shotgun mag caps that i'm aware of the mags are usually 5 rounders and a drum is 10. just not sure why it would be illegal... but all teh fun stuff is illegal in canada.

IIRC it was because they were too easy to put on other semi-auto shotguns (1100, 1187) and use high cap mags on them... Something like that anyways.

since wen is the grizzly very hard to come by? they are at least 3 dealer on here that got some in hand I think.

Grizzly hard to come by?

So i've been doing alot of 3 gun matches and i need the quick reload a box mag provides. aside from the grizzley which is very hard to come by what are my other options here in canada.. land of everything fun is illegal.

pump or autoloader either way is fine by me. the grizzly would be fine if i could find one but i figured i'd see if you all had any other suggestions.

the internet tells me there is some kinda conversion kit i can use on my 870 made by knoxx but as far as i can tell they never actually made them. any ideas?

The Grizzly's not that hard to come by. CanadaAmmo had lots up until about 2-3 days ago, Frontier firearms has at least 5 as of last night (was 6:D). There are some more from some of the other dealers on this site.

Your other options are the
Valtro PM5 - but magazines apparently can't be found right now. someone is selling them on this site with just one mag. Maybe buy 2?

Same outfit is selling a Truvelo which has 2 onboard tube magazines (or similar).

An M16 looking shotgun is apparently in the works too. I think CanadaAmmo is getting it checked out right now.

And are you the same guy that CanadaAmmo already talked to about trying to convert an 870?

i don't think so this is my 1st foray into this subect on here. is is possible to convert my 870? i doubt it but it sure would be nice..

as to grizzlys hard to come by i meant on the EE. I got a pm from one guy about one that sounds great but i've recently did a bunch of upgrading to my sks so will have to wait a month or so for a grizzley.

if interested i posted it on this thread

By that logic, mag tube extensions for 870s would be illegal also. They're not.

Nobody said it had anything to do with Logic :p

Especially considering you can get 5 round mags, and you could pin the 10 round drums. And besides I said 'IIRC' so I may not have the facts quite correct :p

It very well could have been just due to it being extra scary and evil... Who knows with the RCMP. :(

i lied it would work horible for what i need it for. in 3 gun you generally can't have your shotgun loaded already meaning you have to load it during your stage which takes time. loading 20 rounds now or 10 now 10 later doesn't make a big difference. also when i am done with the shotgun and switch to my rifle or sidearm i have to unload the gun completely. this means if i have 24 rounds to start took 12 shots then i'd still have to rack the pump 12 times to clear it. with a mag i simply insert it pump and i'm ready to fire. when dry drop mag and insert a fresh one in about 1 second flat. when done my shotgun portion i drop the mag open the action and any live shells are now out of the gun and the gun is safe. i can now proceed to draw my sidarm or pick up my rifle. I hope this kinda helps you guys understand why i'm looking for a mag fed. it's not the capacity i care about it's the speed and ease of unloading and reloading. i have a 10+1 round tube mag on my 28inch barreled 870 and it works fine enough, but it would sure to great to have a shotgun that worked just like my rifle.

ya would be great too bad it cost a 1000 bucks. i think i'll end up with a grizzly.

Well, remember the others listed, and that there is another one that CanadaAmmo is working on. I think it's an Akdal. That'll give you at least three options soon, and maybe the Truvelo is easy to dump shells back into the pouch.

a guy message me selling a griz for a great price and seems willing to wait a week for 2 for me to get paid so i amd gonna go that route. thanks for your replies guys. besides i can always buys more guns lol. my cabinet is full as it is:) but i think i can squeeze about 2 more guns in. i wish i was made of money but for ow the griz shall do nicely. i stil have my 870 for a trap/skeet gun. eventually i'll get and autoloader for it but not for a whiile.

"...possible to convert my 870?..." Yep. Don't know how much fuss it is or what the kits cost though. One way conversion as I recall. And you'd need a 2 round mag if you wanted to hunt migratory birds with the same shotgun. That's not likely a big deal though. You'd only need 1 mag pinned to 2 rounds.
"...usually 5 rounders..." Made out of M14 mags at one time. FAL mags too, I think.
"...no shotgun mag caps..." There are for a semi with a detachable mag. Laws are no different than any other semi-auto centre fire.

The Knoxx kit's production was discontinued... POS IIRC.

I've seen tube fed guns with 17 round capacity... Okay, they were over six feet long and took an enternity to load, but... It can be done. :D

I shoot 3-gun as well, but mostly in the US... The most common box fed shotty is the Saiga, but there are far more tube fed guns in use.
Guys just know/learn how to handle 'em fast.

Yep, Grizzly's are fun, just make sure you buy about 3 extra mags when you buy the gun. When you get it, take it down and clean the hell out of both gun and mags, there's lots of Cosmoline in there.

i found a used one with 6 mags so i still need to clean it but i'm hoping it won't be too dirty. i'm told less than 500 rounds through it
