Thanks for the tip. I sent an email to him outlining what I said above, and got an odd answer. He simply replied that these were good guns made before screw in chokes became the norm. Perhaps he was just very busy that day. Sent another one today, sort of repeating the question.

Hmmm? I would say that Art gave you his best straight up opinion on the quality of gun you have. From what I know of good smiths is that they are usually too busy for much email gab and are usually economical with words.
 
That could be. I will wait and see if he answers my last one, but I am not the type that pesters folks. If he doesn't reply, I'll leave it alone and maybe just keep my ol' citori, as it is working fine now anyway.
