Hope it works out for you.....like others have said, get a competent smith to look it over. Who the F knows what else was bubba'd on the gun.

I personally would not fire that thing until it was verified, not worth the risk.
 
That's probably a good guess. What else could he be trying to "tighten up"? Hopefully not the slide to frame fit! I have been a Sig armorer for over 10 years and I can with complete confidence say that there is no use for crazy glue on your Sig. I'm also pretty sure that no one on Sig Forum is going to advise using crazy glue either for any type of repair.
Have you disassembled the pistol to see if the crazy glue seeped into the internals?
 
If the acetone doesn't lift the glue off the finish then check some hobby shops that cater to model airplane or model railroad builders. They'll have a bottle of debonder. The debonder is apparently nitromethane and alchohal in a mixture similar to that used by nitro fuel drag racers.

The acetone will likely work but you'll need to let it sit in the solvent for a while and be patient so it soaks in and breaks the bond. After some soaking you SHOULD be able to scrape the glue off with something soft but sharp edged such as a credit card or similar plastic.

I wouldn't screw with trying to remove it because you could make it worse. Send it back but make sure he gives you the refund first. What was his feedback score?
 
Thanks for all the replies guys, some good stuff here. Ill disassemble tonight and make sure the rest is ok, I honestly believe he was just trying to tighten up the slide fitn like he indicated, I dont think he did anything elase to the gun. My smith said acetone as well, ill try that.I dont want to send it back, they are very cool guns and hard to get, other than the glue it looks great, a disassembly will tell the story. Anyone know how to get the threaded barrel protector off, maybe its glued on?

It's crazy glued. :)

Try a bit of heat, wrap the barrel in leather, hold in a vise, and use a pipe wrench.
 
He left a neutral feedback for the seller. I'm surprised, had good dealings buying something off that seller. His feedback was 40 at 100% FYI.

To remove the thread protector you need to turn in clockwise. It's the other way around.
