Please don't laugh too hard! Hp-9 question.

Why do you guys(Win/64 & Claybuster) care so much about what other people do with there own possessions? If it works for him for hunting, great. The more hunters the better I say. He asked whether it was legal, not if it fit your definition of a "proper" shotgun.

Attitudes like this do nothing but divide the firearms community, and turn of new shooters/hunters. If this continues, soon there will be no hunters/shooters to carry on the sport.

Something my mother taught me comes to mind: If you cant say something nice, don't say anything at all.

Just my opinion, take it for what it worth.

Cheers,

Brendan

Maybe that is why they divided the 2 Shotgun sections. We agree to disagree.
If you want to know more about chinese Shotguns, folding stocks picurtiny rails Bayonet mounts etc. etc. Go to the Black and Green Shotgun section.

But its being used for hunting. That's why he asked if it was legal.

Can you see where some newer members can get confused. They wern't around during the "division" .

You being snide and sarcastic does nothing but further the reputation the Hunting and Sporting Shotgun Forum already has. And is a big turn off for newer members.

I know arguing with you is useless, so I'm out. Just please try and be nicer please.

:)

I think your comment went right over his head:rolleyes:

It's not a matter of what's "proper." You used that word not me. It's a matter of modifications being made to a gun that make it less effective in the field.

If the gun was bought new the guy's HP9 came with a full stock. Instead of hunting deer with a crappy folding top folder and wondering whether it's "legal" if he's serious about shooting a deer he'd be best advised to put the orginal stock back on.

My plan was to put the original stock back on yes but I cannot find a stock bolt to fit it. I would use my benelli but it doesnt shoot slugs well. Thanks to the positives and not so much for the negatives. I'm thirty six and an avid hunter not a kid at home playing around. I asked the question incase I can't find the original bolt and don't want to have to borrow somone elses gun. Thanks for the help!

It's just a 1/4-28 bolt I believe. 6" for synthetic and 9" for wood IIRC. Any fastener emporium should be able to get you one or some 1/4-28 redi rod and make your own. ht tp://www.fastenal.com/web/products/detail.ex?sku=47058&ucst=t

Why are there so many elitist gun snobs on ths site? Either they are Liberals or Americans.

The factory stock would certainly be a good idea if you are able to install and practise some with that prior to the season.

Controlled Hunts are usually short distance affairs and may involve snap shooting where that factory stock will offer a superior platform.

I must say that the guys are harshly critical at times :D but their views are also practical should you pause to think about that. :) Somewhat apples to oranges in comparison - I've on ocassions left behind my 4x4 and ventured off into various logging trails in my friend's sedan......it did the job but there were a lot of complains both from the passengers and the vehicle itself....it simply wasn't the appropriate tool.

Regardless of whichever configuration you eventually end up with we wish you success with your planned hunt.

Maybe he shoots slugs really well with that stock, how do you know what works best for him? He just wanted to know if it was legal or not.

I failed to draw a connection between "elitist guns snobs" and "Liberals/Americans" ..... perhaps you may wish to enlighten us more on that point of view?

Is that because someone called a spade a spade albeit in a somewhat blunt fashion?

You got bruised!
What!

Is it normal that I love the kick from the gun? Im starting to think its not.

According to a quick search this is your first post on any of the shotgun forums. Excellent contribution. Thanks for letting everyone know that you are out of your depth and have nothing of any value to add to the discussion. Much appreciated.

A guy asks a question about legaliy, and the self styled pundits get offended, you proved my point. People ask sincere questions, in the quest for knowledge, on CGN they get pompous verbosity on everything but their question.

His question was answered. Speaking of pompous do you intend to actually discuss shotguns on this forum or is your involvement limited to being the self-appointed arbiter of the nature and quality of the posts and offering unsolicited opinions on the members making them?
