Please Explain Target Loads.

Also the wife may want to shoot again. So a light recoiling load would be best for her. She does have a semi auto 20ga.

This discussion has been mostly about what constitutes a light load. But, when it comes to recoil, there are additional factors. Probably the most significant of these additional factors is the weight of the gun. In addition to the shells that she might use, your wife can reduce felt recoil significantly by choosing a heavier 20 gauge rather than a lighter one (Or, by adding weight to any that she already has. If considering this option, endeavor to maintain the proper balance of the gun by evenly distributing any added weight.)

Needless to say, proper gun fit and a functional decelerator pad also deserve your attention.

As you probably already know, all things being equal, the semi-auto action is the best design for absorbing some of the energy.

Try Winchester AA Light Target Loads. Lebarons usually has them in stock. They are pretty light...

Just make sure they run in your gun. I had a recoil operated shotgun that would jam with those shells...but my pump loves them

Guess I can understand that........................

So far I have been looking at #8 shot. Some stuff has said "Target Load" on it. Plus the club is selling boxes of shells cheaper than the local shops. They bought at a good price.

Reloading might be a better idea. You can taylor your load to the game you are playing.
How much a flat for AA light target loads?

I don't use them anymore...not good for IPSC 3 gun. They were marginally cheaper than AA Heavy target loads last time I bought them...so I would guess about $80 for a flat ($90 for the Heavy Target Loads)

I don't shoot enough shotgun to make it worth relaoding...
