Please help a newby. Installing a muzzle device.

I've only ever seen one muzzle device that couldn't be timed with a crush washer that was an XM177 modulator, if you are mounting a can on the gun you have to use shims since you could in theory get a washer that doesn't crush evenly and cause a baffle or end cap strike but that's a nonissue in Canada since suppressors are unobtanium for normal people here.
 
You can use a wrench and torque a muzzle device 1/4 of a turn to 1 and 1/4 of a turn with a crush washer. Do not worry about torque specs. Using an oldschool peel washer per example, you torque a compensator between 46 and 51 ft-lbs but you'll be spending a lot more time trying to align the compensator and getting the correct thickness in that peel washer.

Crush washer is love, crush washer is life.
 
Alright gents!! Its finished. All i needed was another pair of hands to hold the ar while i tightened it. Haha. Its now timed perfectly.
