Yesterday I was pleased to read SkinnErgram #116 (of May 26, 2009) which said:

If you have no comment on that, how ?bout some input on a couple more "bring back" requests?
We continue to get asked about the "LS40" and the "Duty CT".
If there's a market, we'll be happy to bring ?em back. If not, we'd rather not.
Comments?

What was the replacement model
None. the Ranger II existed before, during and after the Duty CT.
why was this one dropped?
Lack of sales. One Factory can only produce so many guns. When you're always backordered 3+ months, you drop the ones that don't sell to increase capacity for the ones that do.

In all the time that the Duty CT was available, I never had one request for one. If that's changed - let STI and I know. As Dave says, if there's a market - they'll go back to building them now that they've expanded and can better keep up with current demands.

Never had a problem with the "recoil master" on my Ranger II (.45) nor did I notice it doing anything beneficial.

This just looks like a Ranger w/ a rail?

plus 1,..I never had a ftf or other problems using my edge.40 with the recoil master. IT is a dual recoil system (like a good dual coil over system in a car)

I'm not feelin' any love here...

Maybe I'm the only one who wants one.

Does it have the stupid " recoil master" gimmick like Ranger II?
I, too, had prejudicial reservations about the recoilmaster, just as I still do about any 1911 FLGR. For years I hesitated on buying (the Ranger and then the Ranger II and the Duty CT) primarily because of that unwanted feature. But the 4.15" barrel length is a feature that I very much do want. (Remember, with a bull barrel, a barrel-bushing-retention conventional/G.I. recoil system is not an option.)

And do you know what? It works fine. Disassembly is simple. No dragons here. I only wish I'd bought one sooner.

I don't know....I've read reports of people having failures because of the recoilmaster. Granted, you can read just about anything on the Internet, but I'd rather have a traditional one spring setup in 1911 pistol.

If the Duty CT had been available when I bought my Ranger II, I most likely would have bought that instead. The Ranger II has served me good. Never had a failure it with it.
