A coworker has had this gun for some time and would like to know what he has. Any information would be appreciated. Thanks.

Stud trigger, percussion lock pocket pistol, or muff pistol? Thread off barrel or muzzle loader? Proof marks would be a real bonus, but either way, it looks very well made. Nice find!

He said there is a '23' stamped on it. Unfortunatly I have not seen the gun, only had it described to me.

My guess would be belgian or german based on the butt shape. Possibly leaning towards german because of the shape of the butt. Possible the 23 is the guage which would imply about .59 caliber

Thanks everyone. I picked his brain a bit more today and he said it's 45 caliber and still shoots.

Higher quality made boot pistol. German? French? Either way it's one of the nicer ones.
