Please help me decide

Sadly neither of those are options I believe as the importer only has the two I listed in my last post the 452 trainer or the 455 standard.

I could order the 455 American no telling when id get it could be months is it worth the wait ?

I just read up on the CZ Trainer.
This comes with barrel sights as the others don't.
Long barrel will be quieter for peskie control.
Not sure what the difference is between the 455 Standard
and the 455 American?
Go have a look at both and compare before someone makes
the decision for you.

From what I read the difference between the Standard and the American is pretty substancial, the standard is basically the LUX without the hogback stock.

If I am wrong I encourage anyone to correct me as I am very excited about the possibility of a CZ but welcome all information I can get before I make the choice.

EDIT: from CZ site

The CZ 455 Standard rimfire rifle corresponds in its construction to the CZ 455 Lux model, differentiating from it by its beech wood stock without a cheekpiece. The beech wood stock is offered on this model in order to bring to our customers a high-quality rimfire rifle for the more favourable price. This rimfire rifle comes with a 5 round magazine, with an option to buy a 10 round magazine.

Seems thats the path everyone tells me to take, and more to what I am looking toward but it sadly comes down to availability, this retailer I don't believe imports their own firearms and instead goes through a broker. I have a credit with this retailer because of my Marlin XT-22 and the work they went through to help me get this credit and not stick me with a defective gun, I feel I owe them my business.

I was told thier broker does not have any 455 Americans or Varmits and I could put in an order but it could take months to receive...but I could go to Frontier and pick one up in have it in likely less than 2 weeks..I could settle for the LUX / Standard models but I do want this gun as a scoped rifle as I have a rifle I use as my iron sight rifle so I guess the American or Varmit is my best choice.

My loyality is fighting my impatience.

Would they consider refunding you the credit for cash?
Then you could buy what you wish and go and enjoy it
this year.
Another option, would they consider buying this CZ
at the other retailer for you and you pony up the difference?
Sometimes a bit of back scratching pays off?

I thought about that, seeing if they have a partnership with any other dealers.. I really just set aside the cash to cover the difference for the CZ don't want to go out to another retailer put out the 500+ and sit on a $250 credit at another store, I thought about using it for optics and it was suggested here as well but I already have a scope ready for the CZ.

Really hate the idea of settling, and even walking away from this retailer as they are great guys who I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone.

My wife just got a Henry, and it's gorgeous. Fun to shoot. Only using irons right now, so I can't speak to it's precision very well. But it's definitely a great firearm

Well, I got bored today and took this thread on with a vengance.
Three went up the hill with me today and the CZ 452 American won hands down.
The other two, a new Browning T-Bolt that I swear would eat this CZ if not for the
stiff trigger. I have tinkered and puttered with a diamond file and have made a gain
on the trigger, but nothing compared to the CZ.
The other little jewel is a new to me BL-22 and I can't get this little gal to group where
I would like. No fault on her just yet. The optics need upgrading.
Back to the CZ. I was at a spot that is used for shooting quite frequently. I found maybe
a dozen or so 22 rounds that had the firing pin marks on the case head that didn't go off.
I stapled a target to a stump at 25 yards > and pounded away. I was going to load these
rejects into the CZ, but came up with another plan. I walked out to the stump and pushed
these unfired rims into holes in the stump. The test was on to see if the CZ was accurate
enough to twack the butt. One out of five or six and twack was the noise. They blacken
the target paper. What a hoot. The scope on the CZ really makes it happen. There were
a bunch of 12 gauge hulls around and I set those up at twenty five yards plus. Pull the trigger on the CZ and they flew. TWAAAACK. Layed them down and hit the spent primer.
The one target I was shooting at got boring. I nailed the staples holding the target to the
stump.

Frack, buy the CZ, any one, and put a nice 4-12x40, 6-18x40 AO scope on her
and enjoy......................

Thanks Guys,

Kamlooky, you have been responding to my stuff right up from my very first rant about the broken Marlin, thanks for going out of your way to test it up and offer up a great opinion. which I plan to take straight to the bank..You've been there a lot to offer up valuable advice I have used so far in my very short stint as a gun owner.

AaronV, a thanks as well, he has been helping a lot via PM with advice on the direction to take and it seems he is with the masses CZ all the way..

Everyone has been a great help, smartest move I've made thus far since that day I received my PAL in the mail was joining this forum.

I will post some pics of my new gun today and of course the updates of when I take it out for the first time.

Thanks again everyone.

If you were here locally, I would of offered you a trip up the hill and let you
shoot some rounds out of the pick up sticks here.
If the shop you are dealing with have more than one CZ, try the trigger out
if they will let you dry fire them.
Ya, ya, I know, crowd, spank me silly.
My CZ came with a great trigger.
I had already ordered the Yodavey kit and they both showed up at the same time.
I honestly think you won't regret spending the $$ on the CZ's.
Cheers.

CZ won't peen the chamber, dry fire away.

So its done, I decided to take a credit with the retailer and use that down the road and go to another local store to get a 455

After searching I finally found one, 455 Varmint w/Thumbhole

Was looking for a standard stock but felt that thumbhole stock and man o man was it comfortable.
