Please help me for a reference to join the Handgun section in Sportman Galt Club

Hey guys,

I'm a long time member in Sportman Galt Club (Cambridge Ontario) and willing to join the handgun section. However, all my friends are in the field trap/clay shooting section. I tried my best but still cannot find any one who is already a member of handgun section.

I was wondering if there is anyone who is already a member in handgun section and willing to be my reference to join the handgun section. All you need to do is to sign at the application form. We can schedule to shoot once together in the club. Usually I will be in the clay field at Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Please let me know if there is anyone want to help me.

Good point! But what else I can do? I tried my best to make new friends but apparently the clay shooers are in different group from the handgun players.
 
Start going to the handgun practices. Talk to people, get to know them. I have never seen a club that won’t allow members to join different sections of the club, although I haven’t heard many good things about the Galt club in general.
 
From what I’ve heard, members have been waiting for over a year to get into handgun. Galt is an amazing facility, must be a good reason they screen the handgun section I suppose.
Someone to vouch for you is a big ask these days. Follow digzilla’s advice.

Thanks. I tried a few times but no luck.
One guy simply said he didn't know me so cannot play with me.
Another guy said I cannot bring my own handguns to the range since Im not a member of hundgun section yet.

I'm a member of another club for years but that club doesn't have a clay shooting field.

Thanks. The range is good with friendly staffs and clay range.

There are too many members in the club so they limited the capacity of handgun section.

Not at all. I’ve shot many three gun matches and clays there and know several members at Galt. I didn’t find your supposition at all. Everyone is very welcoming, courteous, friendly and clean up after themselves. Many donate their time to keep it running smoothly and oblige if you need help or want to try their guns. Some are just skeptical of new members, others want to shoot, not chit-chat. Quite understandable.
