Please help me ID a gun

it is stamped Wards Western Field on the action. any info would help (value), I picked it up off of a local classified add. so i hope i didn't pay to much.....

Pretty cool...I've never seen one. At first glance, I thought "COOEY 75 whale belly" but wow...not even close. (some stock similarities I guess)

What did you pay for it?
 
Wards Western Field what? Need the model for a cross reference. It looks like Savage, maybe Stevens.
 
Western Field is the "House Brand" name for the line of guns sold by Wards. These were manufactured by Savage, Mossberg, Marlin, and others for Wards.
 
I pulled the action and barrel out of the stock, the only markings i can find are Wards Western Field on the action, and on the barrel next to the rear sight, it says 22 short long or long rifle, and on the barrel next to the action it has a circle with 18 in it

Jeez thats what I thought at first too but nope definately not. Tagged for interest though.

Also OP I'd say 140 us for that and a savage MK2 is a darn good deal. I bought my savage for 200 and its the best .22 I own. so that Alone was a great deal.
 
Just pulled my Model 4 out of the safe and I'm dead certain now that you have a model 4
Triggerguard, cocking piece, and mag well cover are identical. Also mine also has the circled 18 stamped on the barrel just in front of the receiver.
