Firstly I think your petition is futile for two reasons. Petitions in general carry little weight with politicians; online petitions even less so. The second reason is the petition you have floated allows anyone from any jurusdiction to sign. If you want a change in NFLD and Lab then you need to have signatures from only that province. Signatories from Ontario and Maine will not only do you no good they will hurt your cause as it makes the document that much easier to disregard.
Secondly, a question. In what kind of season do you propose this new weapon be used? I think if you want crossbows used in a special primitive weapons season or in rifle season you should say so. This avoids any confusion as to your intentions with respect to use in archery seasons. If your intention is to have them allowed in archery season you need to have that debate with your supporters. Supporters of a new and different weapon put in its correct season will sign your petition. These same people may have a huge issue with crossbows incorrectly placed in archery season and the unintended consequences that will cause.
I agree entirely with Schlephunter, having folks from any and all jurisdictions able to sign this weakens your petition and makes you lose credibility. They don't live there, who cares what they think? If I were at the receiving end and you put this in my hands I'd toss it out the window.
Is second point concerning seasons also merits a lot of attention.
If you're serious I'd scrap your petition and put more thoughts into it.
