I agree entirely with Schlephunter, having folks from any and all jurisdictions able to sign this weakens your petition and makes you lose credibility. They don't live there, who cares what they think? If I were at the receiving end and you put this in my hands I'd toss it out the window.

Is second point concerning seasons also merits a lot of attention.

If you're serious I'd scrap your petition and put more thoughts into it.

I too, strongly agree with Schlephunter. Every point he makes is valid.
In this modern age, an email petition of any type is useless.
One hand written letter from an NL resident, stating his/her views, would do more good than this petition.
 
Cross bows should be in the firearms season not the bow season just drafted a hand written letter to the department giving my reasons. I am a trad long bow bowhunter. Crossbows have their place but not in bow season.
 
Done 530, e mailed the link to my buddies you hunt and aren't on CGN. Have you joined and/or approached the Newfoundland Wildlife Federation? Sent emails to the various rod and gun clubs on the island? The Newfoundland Outfitters Association? These are routes to take to spread the word and get local signatures, which may have more pull. Good luck with the cause.

You must have missed the part where OP didn't want a debate about x-bows.... Who exactly are you to tell anbody what they should and should not hunt with during certain seasons?.....
