Please help me with my M14- SAGE stock, all good now!

I have a Norinco M14 in a Sage stock
The problem I am having is if I pull the trigger back and cycle the bolt, the trigger dose not catch the hammer. :eek: If I only cycle the bolt then the trigger will catch the hammer. :p I did take the trigger out of the stock and when I pull the trigger back and press the hammer back the trigger catches it like it should.

It almost seems like the bolt cant push the hammer down far enough to allow the trigger to catch the hammer if the trigger is pulled back. I did check and the rifle is fully seated into the stock.

Dose any one have an idea what may cause this and how to fix it??? :confused:

Did you try to do some sort of trigger job to it?
Check the rear hammer forks and make sure there not damaged. Also try not to fire the rifle untill you firgure out what's wrong and fix it. As your problem sounds like a slam fire issue big time.

No I did not touch the trigger and the hooks are not damaged.
 
Is the trigger group seating firmly back into the receiver???

Did this same combination work in the factory stock/ with no stock?
 
Sometimes the SAGE EBR stock needs a little material removed were the FCG
fits up into the stock in order for ChiCom M14s to fit and function properly.

Is the trigger group difficult to remove?

As far as I can see the trigger is sitting in the correct location. I did not check to see if I have the same problem when I bought the gun (bought it used on the EE) the gun was tuned by the doctor. I figured every thing will be good to go. I will pull the rifle out of the stock and see if I have the same problem.

No the trigger group pulls out very easily.

Update

I removed the rifle from the stock. I tested the trigger op the rifle and it works like it should.
The only thing I can think of doing is to remove some material on the base of the trigger group top get it to sit higher into the stock and allow the hooks on the trigger group to catch the hammer.

:eek: Don't modify the trigger group!

I'll post a picture of the modification to the stock later today.

Well I'm happy to report shes all fixed now. I filled a little off the trigger plate (where the trigger guard locks in) Sorry H2O man I could not bring my self to modify my Sage stock I just paid to much money for it to possible screw it up :p It was actually very little that I hat to take off the get it to work safely and reliably.
