Please help with ID of this old rifle

* seriel number - 566###

* bolt action

* 5 shot clip

* above the seriel number has a star, with "2 era" after it.

* range meter about half way on the barrel.

* looks like there is a crown and RJA stamped on the left hand side near the bolt.

* There is some other markings on the right hand side near the bolt, but I am unable to read them.

* The safety has a red and a green dot, (not sure if this is original or not), for safety on and safety off.

* "PTC" stamped in the butt on the right hand side.

* And there looks like a wooden disc in the right hand side of the butt with "294" stamped into it.

* Peep sight behind/above bolt and other sight at the end of the barrel.

* Calibre is 303
 
I'll say it before everyone else does we need pictures to tell you for sure but it sounds like a Lee-Speed Sporter which was basicly a commercial rifle based on the standard lee enfield or it could just be a bubba'ed enfield.
 
We have done a little research on this itme, and the closest thing we have found was a rifle that was made in the US by either winchester or remington for the british army. It may have been used in 1914 by the british army as a sniper rifle. But there is 2 very similar rifles that were made around the same time. one of them being an enfield 303 P14, and the other was a M1917. I am trying to figure out which one we have acquired. I am unable to post photos of the rifle, and help would be appreiceated.
 
Sounds like a Pattern 1914 Enfield made by Eddystone plant under the supervision or Remington Arms (ERA).
