I know where the Z-bar is and what it does but this other bar bellow the Z-bar that is bent in a V has me a bit puzzled. Is this the primer sensor? I need to order one and can't figure out the part name from any of the Lee diagrams. It is pictured bellow with the red circle around it....

That is the spring that closes the primer area so they dont feed if a case isnt present it goes around that black thing by the post in the back and underneath there is a slot by where the primer press thing goes up and down.

This it ?

Not sure if that's it. The bend at the one end should be 90 degrees and the one in your picture looks different. This bar is not really a spring. It's the exact same thickness as the Z-bar.

I have three pro 1000's none of them have that I have never seen one with it... ask the person you bought it from what it is... maybe it activated am electronic bullet feeder or something.

UPDATE...

When I use the press the end of the piece goes up inside the primer exit hole and holds on to the primer until it gets to the bottom to release it without having any fall on the floor.

I think someone rigged it to do that as far as I know its not factory maybe it was a long time ago?

The one press with this part is a lot older looking than the other one. I will have to talk to the previous owner to see if he rigged it up. Good idea though, I was going to rig this on my other reloader but the primer exit hole is turned more towards the front of the press. I suppose I can turn it to the same spot as the other one.

My Lee 1000 also has this bar and it is indeed for dropping the fired primer into the old primer chute and not on the floor. My press is approximately 12 years old and came new like this from the factory.

It's called the primer gate. I don't have a part number for it. My Pro1000 had one. It got miss placed years ago when I had it apart for cleaning. Sure was a neat little feature.
