He'll be lucky if it holds zero. If he wants precision, he's better off with running a flattop and mounting a precision scope on it. If he wants speed, he's better off with running a flattop and mounting a reflex sight on it. Otherwise, he's better off using the irons. With that being said, his rifle, his choice.

Hey, whatever floats your boat. When I was a lot younger I have a Redfield 6X18X50 scope on my Ruger 10/22. It looked out of proportion and a little unbalanced and top heavy but I enjoyed the arrangement and that's all that counts.

That is a pretty... interesting setup...

If he likes it then all the power to him, but I don't think I will find that kind of optics setup anytime soon.. haha.

Cheek weld? Fuggetaboutit!

Some things fit but don't really go together ;)
As long as he's having fun shooting it who cares I guess.

I like It because its an AR, I don't like it because its That AR. My personal opinion is the scope should never be longer than the barrel, and I think that's a Hogue foregrip, it doesn't work for the carbine. Also I feel that barrel combo would be best with a flat top upper. So all said and done, its his its all what he likes but if it were me... swap the barrel out for a longer one.

While everyone else attempts to build the perfect all-round setup with the AR platform... your friend NAILES IT!
The look that everyone will be going for now for sure.
Just like the arm stretched out tactical rifle stance/hold that everyone jumped on in the past, this rifle set-up will be one for which all others are judged against...
