Please rate the Springfield Armory scout mount.

This is the mount that comes with the Socom 16. I am interested in mounting a red dot sight but would like the option of mounting a scope.This flexibility rules out the Rooster 33 scout mount. The Ultimak mount looks great but I cannot afford it at the present time.
I have a traditional scope mount set up and I would like a scout set up for my second rifle. I am hoping to do this in the most economical way without sacrificing quality.

I went through the same motions as you. I had just mounted my mount from SA with a Burris 2.75 Scout scope on it. This is the configuration I have always wanted my scope on the M14 to be. So far, It works very well as expected. It's fast on sight acquisition and fast on stripper loading. I have an IPSC 3 gun match in 2 weekends. I can't wait to work it with my new sights.

I rate it very excellent.
