PLEASE REMOVE: Need help to identify a rifle magazine.....pics posted

Looking for an ID on this mag. Its metal, a 38-55 rim is too tight to work in it even though the round could be forced into it. The base on it is offset to one side, should be visible in the pics. I think these ID's are a fun little game; who will be the first to do a positive ID on it?.......I'm thinking European but but thats just a guess based mainly on appearance.
