Hi. You do mean 140's? Cabela's Canada lists it at $31.99 per 20. Shipping will hurt. Reloading is your friend.

the swed is my fav. mine is a scoped m38 husky. i like the 140gr fusion from wholesale sports when you can get it ( a cheap source of brass ), but have reloaded my last few boxs. still tinkering. as stated before..reloading is your friend, end of day the rifle still shoots alot better than i can.
ps. got my hands on an old milsub box of ammo at a gun show and that was some fine shooting.
 
if i didn't reload , i would take a serious look at this stuff . if your gun likes it , it is about a 1/3 cheaper than anything else out there

my swedish mauser shot the cheap federal 140 stuff fairly well .

but like the others have mentioned , handloading is what makes these rifles shine .

barnes used to make a 140 flatbase bullet that was the same length as the original 160 grain bullet the rifle was made for , and shot tiny tiny groups ...... and the damage it did on moose and deer looked like it was shot with a 300 magnum .

the only time i ever felt that they gun might be on the light side , was when i was covered in moose blood and had a grizzley tracking my every movement as i packed the moose out of the bush

if you do take up hand loading take a good look at barnes tipped tsx in 120grain and hornadys gmx 120 ...... i also believe that nosler has a solid copper bullet coming out that may be promising .
 
Thanks for all the tips (I did mean 140gr in the original post)....the replies all add up to suggest that it's time to start some re-loading and I have already ordered some tools. I have only fired the 140 gr from TradeEx Canada thru a a scoped Husky sporter and a scoped M96 military rifle....the latter being the winner for better groupings after sighting in. Both are really pleasant to shoot! I guess I'll stock up from TradeEx to accumulate some brass and keep reading about the reloading options....thanks again.
 
you best quality for shooting 6.5x55 is to stock up on lapua . get it at http://www.hirschprecision.com . also to note that sierra bullets are .263 not .264. mind you i have shot sub 1moa with them so i don't see the issue, but some people don't like them for that reason. for hunting and target your on the right track with 140 or 139 grain.

i shoot 6.5x55 out of my Ag42 and have had good results with "Igman" ammo and i believe epps still sells it for around $20/box, epps also sometimes has seller and belliot, for around the price of remington core lokt and its just as good if not better IMO.


reloading will save you tons of $$$ especially in your bolt gun.

id love to relaod for mine AG but the semiauto deforms the brass, then flattens the neck, then throws it 10 feet forward and right.
 
"...time to start some re-loading..." Makes the endless search for the best price for ammo go away. You do search for the best price for components(buy 'em locally), but you'll be shooting ammo that is tailored for your rifle.
