please remove

Can't help with specific numbers but I know the REAL bullets have different sized driving bands with the base being about bore diameter (around .450 presumably) and the one near the nose meant to be close to groove diameter.

What project are you contemplating?

actually i was trying to come up with a gallery load for my 458 win mag. wanted 1200 to 1500 fps with a light bullet. always wanted a RUGER #1 in 45-70 but never could find used one in nice shape. got my tropical from SIR (before cabela's) for $700. it had never been fired and definitely was bnib in shape.
i described this rifle to cabelas rogers mn and la vista ne and they said it was worth between $1200 and $1300 US and in their opinion i stole it.
i have jacketed loads using 48 grs of IMR 4895 but i wanted a soft load using lead. i don't hunt so full load not needed. any ideas?

Go to the castboolits site and search "collar button". Lightweight .45 cal bullet that looks kinda odd but amounts to about as little weight as you can fit into the cartridge and still reach the sides with both ends of the bullet.

Why the "please remove"? This isn't the EE, it does not cost to leave the info up, an the info that you removed may well have helped someone else. Kinda lamer move.

Cheers
Trev
