Rick Hanson of the Man in motion tour fame has been an avid hunter.
He gets out in either a blind or sits atop an ATV, but that requires a permit issued by the Gubbernmint.

No idea if your Province requires proof of your disability or if you have one (permit) now.

You'll also need a place to hunt obviously...forgive me if you already know all this but I am spitballin ideas.

Then you'll need to be in the right field at the right time and thats the second most important part of the equation.

Put a flyers up In The local feed and seed shop explaining that your disable and looking fore a easy access for Turkey hunting
You will probly need to have a ATV or rent one off the farmer and you will need to bring a hunting partner
You will find many older farmers are quite sympathetic
The fastes way to get permission it to find a local coffee shop and hang out there and meat the local farmers in person
Good luck on your turkey hunting

The key to the whole enterprise is getting permission in a likely spot. Your best bet would be to get permission to hunt the birds that hang around close to a farmers yard. I expect that you will require somewhat firm ground for your wheels. I'd hope that someone would give you permission to hunt their back 40 where there is a trail you could use for access. Turkeys in populated rural areas will react to a call and come in, despite the proximity of buildings or livestock if you can sneak to your calling site with a minimum of fuss and conceal yourself with some blind material. Arriving before dawn is ideal.

I have no idea where to get one , But I seen a guy at barrie automotive flea market . a few years back . He was in one of those handi cap access chairs . The ones that can turn on a dime and climb curbs . But his was built for out doors off the side walk travel . higher ground clearance small atv like tires .The only reason I remember him was I watched him drive it over a 6 inch log to show some dude what it could do .
What about an argo . Go thru any terrain . very stable , and bench style seating
Maybe you could rig up one of those lifts like you see on trailer hitches to load stuff into pick up box . To help get in an out of unit

Im sure it is prohibitively expensive.
But they do make off trail wheelchairs.

Now that is pretty slick. The drive wheels would be on top and the fragile stuff on high. Showing it running on asphalt is not inspiring but looks very interesting. What would the numbers be like?

This year will be the first in decades I am able to hunt turkey. But as I'm wheelchair bound it very difficult to get to a good place to hunt them. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can sucessfully accomplish my turkey hunt?

what part of Ontario are you in? are you a member of any group that gives you insurance when hunting? answers to these may help you find a spot also.

I really appreciate all the positive feed back from you guys and ideas for ways to get my (wife) turkey this year. I especially like the comment from carverk: sitting in the local coffee shops waiting for old farmers to discuss things then ask about hunting their property. The posters in feed stores is another great idea that I will definitely utalize shortly. Thanks again guys and good hunting for you all.
