Vortex gets a lot of hate on here for some unknown reason. But I have been more than happy with my Vortex Razor HD 10x42 binos. Some places are selling for above $1500 but you should be able to find a deal on the EE or a local store.
I compared between the Zeiss conquest HD, Steiner Predator, Vortex Vipers, and a Nikon and Leupold model I can't recall. The Razors were the most comfortable and the clearest at dusk.
