Just new at re-loading

I have a model 70 XTR Spotter in 22-250 made in the early 80's
i have been shooting factory Hornady 50gr v-max and they shoot great 4 shots in a 5/8" group at 100 yards

So I have some 50 gr v-max bullets to reload with , but i was wondering what powder to use and how much? To get the same performance, any help would be appreciated

You stand as much chance of getting good advice by reading a good loading manual (Hornady's would be a very good starting point) and deciding what you want to try first from that information. All rifles are individuals, and like different loads. No matter what gets said here, you will have to try other things to find out if you have the best load for your gun, or not.

I like IMR 4895 and Varget in my .22-250. Load levels must be tested (like the manuals say) and YMMV according to what your rifle shoots well. Experiment is the only final solution.

Only your rifle will tell you what it likes. Check the manuals, look at different powder bullet combos. Pick one load up from min to max and try them out. If your not happy try different powder and go again.
 
With 50gr bullets my goto powder was H4895, hell on gophers and 1/2" groups at 100M.

Get a manual, start at min and work up in .3-.5gr increments to see what your barrel prefers.
