I paid $225 with taxes for mine at Wholesale Sports in Winnipeg. It will depend on the production year you want and the manufacturer you prefer (Izzy or Tula).
It's also going to depend on who you buy it from. Flamingchicken has some very nice SKS's and the same goes for Weimajack on the EE. They're your best bet if you want to stay within the CGN family for a quality product.

Wholesale sports in Langley recently had SKSs and in the bunch were a couple of non refurbs. Sometimes you get lucky.

Depends on how you want them pinned. Bottom of the heap are the franken-pinned ones, then riveted, the best are the ones pinned on the follower with no mag destruction. These came in the first IZH import of 2008 and the recent Westrifle ones. They definately are worth the extra $$$.

I bought Russian one from the shop in town.I have no idea what it is except it says Tula 1953 and the mag has this gizmo in the bottom of it to stop the follower. I was able to buy a half case of ammo as I will never in my life time shoot a whole case off. Now to get the half ton of grease off of it. He couldn't find the little tool kit for it yet so I have to go back next week and see if he found it yet.

Is it your first SKS...so did you check on the butt stock where the little kit hides away? I recently bought an SKS, and the cleaning kits came not in the stock, but in the ammo pouches, and the seller didn't know - thought they were missing.

You may know all about that little hide-a-away in the stock, just checking - not everyone does!

I actually didn't know about the little hole in the stock till last night but it wasn't there either. I also didn't know about the cleaning rod being above the bayonet either till I read the sticky on them.Never got the ammo pouch or the speed loaders yet either.

That pouch will have your cleaning kit in it I bet. The stripper clips are no big deal, being as how they hold 10 and we can only load 5.
And a missing cleaning rod? That's odd...although I don't use mine, preferring a modern soft-metal or snake, but it does affect the look if it's not there.
Did you get a sling at least?
Hope this seller comes through with your parts!

I bought mine for $199 (I think) at reliable gun in Vancouver. Great service friendly staff. If you're around that area I suggest you check them out if you haven't.
