Ted's just trying to draw me into the fray, by badmouthing 700 Rems..........next he'll be bringing up the (UGH) 270 Win.........
In reality any difference between the 338-06, the 35 Whelen, Brown Whelen, Whelen AI, the 9.3X62, and the 375-06 is at best academic and for all intents and purposes completely irrelevant to the game receiving the projectile. With the bullets and powders we have today, SD has become irrelevant, BCs are all in the same neighborhood and also irrelevant within the ranges of these cartridges..........it's the same old comparisons again. The next significant step up is to the 375 Magnum class of hunting cartridges, and some more specialized cartridges like the 340 Wby and 338 LM. One could even throw the 350 RM into that class as well as the 358 Norma and 338 Win as they really do not enough more to rate a step up, unlike the 340, the 338 LM, and the 375 Magnum class.
