Norma - What stock do you prefer? Have you noticed any improvement in accuracy with the aftermarket stocks?

pbonura - Post it up! 6.5's are ruling the day here.

I prefer the Robertson, it's lighter, has a nice palm swell and fits me perfectly. The only downside is it's double the price of a Bell and Carlson. Just got the B & C and only shot it once, never hunted with it yet. I can't really say there's an improvement in accuracy, they were both good MOA shooters before and seem to group the same now with the new stocks.

Thanks guys please keep them coming!

One question though: I have received my scope ( Conquest 3-9x40 ) if I go for the Talley lightweight one piece will the low clear the scope?

Yes it will because if you look at post #9 he is using a Zeiss scope with a 44mm bell in the same rings and your bell is 4mm smaller. Don't see why it won't work.
Thank you CB,

I guess I paid too much attention on these beautiful pics and overlooked the description.

Thanks again

Cheers

T3 lite 338 win mag Left hand , de rigeur limbsaver ( do not shoot without ) talley one piece bases... The best way to mount a scope. bases lapped in and torqued holding Conquest 3.5-10 x44. The best trigger I've ever had, best scope too. She is not beautiful, she is a black plastic gun that hangs out in the woods in minus 20 and kills things.

What is the kick like with that gun and what does it weigh with the rings and scope? Must kick like hell.

I can't imagine what the 338 win mag recoil feels like in T3 Lite. I have thought about selling my Zastava M98, because it just doesn't fit me and buying a 9.3x62 in a T3 Hunter and even still I would probably add weight to the stock!

Yeah, I am curious to know how much does it kick as well.

I have own several magnum calibers including a 375h&h since the early 90s but after hearing so many stories on how these T3 lite kick the crap out of the shooter I might consider add a muzzle brake if I can't shoot this 7mm accurately which I hope not as my goal is to make this rifle as light as possible hopefully no more than seven and a half pounds dressed.

No problem.

You might be well served to get a Limbsaver and replace the factory pad. The previous owner did this on mine, so while I never shot the rifle with the factory pad, I don't feel much in the way of recoil with the 6.5.(Not that the 6.5x55 is a heavy recoiling cartridge anyways)

Thanks for your tips.

I had a rifle in the 6.5x55 before and its one of the most versatile caliber I have ever owned I shouldn't have sold it but now I am regret.

I am considering swap the stock to a Bell & Carlson medalist and will see how the rifle shoot first and if it shoot the way I want it will leave it the way it is otherwsie might order one from the States and have it ship to them ( have friends in the States visit me frequently) found on the web its $235 USD.

Just check on US export rules for rifle stocks. You may need paperwork, not sure though. If you do and it's too much hassle, Prophet River carries those stocks.

What magnification of Conquest did you order?

l ordered the Conquest 3-9x40 and got it last week and I am shopping for rings, most likely will go for the Talley lightweight.

I realize Prophet River carries them but they are almost a hundred more and I can have the stock ship to my friends in Florida and have them bring it back when they visit but will decide after I mount everything and test shoot it first and if it shot moa group size with factory ammo might as well leave it the way it is.
