Hey guys and gals.

Sorry if this question has been posed before. I searched and came up empty.

I bought my Mossberg 702, NIB, a few months ago. I have sent, maybe, 100 rds down range. They haven't been fun though. I am having feed issues. Perhaps 1 or 2 rds from each mag load will jam. And I mean JAM well enough that the round is quite bent.

I have no idea what to do in this situation. Anyone know of this happening? Know what to do to fix it? Or should I just sell what I think is a piece of crap?

Thanks

Don't have that particular rifle, but I know from the other .22's that I do have that the type of ammo can cause jams. I would try another type of ammo, typically something with a round nose and no hollow point may feed better. The magazine may also need to be broken in a bit more.

X3 on trying different ammo. I use American Eagle in my Plinkster and don't have any problems. I've used Winchester ammo in it, and had nothing BUT problems.

Yup, yup... possible

Thanks everyone.

Hey Sask, you nailed that. Yes I am using Winchester Dynapoint GT (somethin' black box). I guess my next step would be to go get me somemore bullets.

Now, what is everyone's opinion on storing the mag loaded, to help weaken a new spring? Good? Bad? Ugly?

x 2 on trying different ammo. Were you using Winchester somethin' black box?? I think those kind of shat the bed in my girlfriends 702. Bulk Fed's usually feed well in anything I've owned.

I had the exact same problem with mine. I was using a copper jacketed CCI bullet and I wouldn't get through one mag without it jamming. I switched to cheap Remington Thunder and have had no problems since....
