I have a win model 70 stainless classic in 30-06.
I don't like the Tupperware stock or the hinge floor mag and was thinking of getting a boyds.
I have a browning abolt in same cal but blued, same issue with stock - I don't like it - but atleast it has the detachable mag. They both shoot fairly well - better than me - about 1.5" group off a sandbag to the 100 yard berm.
Anyone convert their 70 to detachable mag?
I don't want the cost of the project to surpass the value of the rifle. Which brings me to next question what would a Winchester model 70 stainless classic be worth? It's in good condition with some light marks from hunting.

I'm not much of a flyfisherman, when using spinning gear on bass, pike and walleye, I tend to stick with jigs and Gulp baits... long-lining for trout a variety of body baits work just fine...
