Pls dlt

i had a small chunk of metal remaining in one of the flashhider slots that i had to hacksaw out so i'd say yes it's normal
 
IMHO if its not interfering with the OP rod it is just superficial .Too bad yours got marked up a bit as mine was fiished a little better than my 2 2009 Polytechs or a newer Norinco I compared it too.
