Pls move to Sporting Shotguns. Beretta AL2 20 Gauge Safety is stuck???

hi i just bought a beretta AL2 20 gauge semi-auto the guy i bought it off said its around 10-15 years old. Gun is in beautiful condition except for the safety is stuck and i have no idea how to move it. I tried putting some carb-out on it to loosen it up but it wont move. Any suggestions???

safety is stuck on or off?

If you can fire the gun, try that. Sometimes the trigger mechanism jams up on it.

An AL2 is a lot older than 10 or 15 years old. The 302s date from the early 80s.

The AL2 is a nice shotgun.

the safety is stuck off so it will fire. trigger feels alittle spongey too. i think the neglected it abit.

Punch the two pins out and remove the trigger mechanism, flush out with break cleaner and soak in it Breakfree CLP over night. Inspect it for rust or burrs, work it loose.

It could have been stuck 'On' at one time and forced 'Off' then seized up and left to rust.

On my older Beretta 301 you cannot put the safety on unless the shotgun is cocked. If the gun is cocked, can the safety be engaged?

Ok i took my beretta into a gunsmith because i couldnt figure why the hell the safety was stuck. You wont believe what he said, the Fu%king idiot that had the gun before me sprayed WD-40 inside the action and trigger mechanism for god knows what reason and thats why my safety wouldnt move. http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/images/smilies/new/kickInTheNuts.gif

only bubba uses wd-40 on the mechanism of anything other than a door hinge. I would be worried why someone as dumb as the Fu%king idiot had the trigger group out in the first place or maybe the Fu%king idiot doused the wd-40 right through the magazine port.
