Pls Remove

I tried to have a ar15 lower deactivated 10 or 15 years ago . it had pins permanently welded in with trigger parts welded in a blob . they OK ED IT.
then they came back and seized it. then they told me it would have to be chopped up to deactivate, or reregistered as a live firearm.

Lol wow just wow.

Collector's source advertises being an authorized deactivators. But you might have to do an entire rifle. Welded together to prevent u from removing the upper and they usually drill a hole thru the barrell and weld a rod inside. But you could always give them a call

Never thought of it that way....about the polymer lower I have however....lol

start a 3/4in endmill at the rear of the mag housing and run it to the buffer tube, deep enough to go below the existing trigger mech pocket

You are starting to understand their thought process. We submitted a lower years ago for inspection for classification. The lab guys literally duct taped an AR upper to a lower that had no provisions for the take down pins, but were able to get a primer to light up when a screw driver and hammer was used through the rear of the upper to get the firing ping to move. The fact that if a live cartridge was used would mean the person discharging the abortion would have ended up with a bolt carrier in between the eyes seemed irrelevant.

Wow, just wow! I totally understand your protectionism towards your current offerings. Where do these guys come up with their version of logic? Oh that's right, they make it up as they go.

If it's polymer...

If it's aluminum...

Or sell it and recoup some $$.

If I do everything under the sun, won't the RCMP still want verification from a smith to make sure it is legit?

Cheapest option, turn it into your local LEO for destruction and get a report as proof to pass onto the CFO to cover your butt unless you were trying to find a way to keep it as a conversation piece.

Cut it in half lengthwise, turn in the half with the serial number, mount the other half on a plaque?

Seems logical to me but I just wonder if they would see the half you retain to be considered as being a 50% lower thus being classified as a prohibited device? By their logic they just might. :stirthepot2:

there is a fellow in Montreal who was EDMing Lugers in half to mount on plaques. they gave him the royal run around . I think it got to the point that they said he was making two guns out of one and still wanted them registered.

What if you took the polymer lower and filled it with hardest epoxy? Rough up or score the inside so it bonds better, then epoxy the decativated upper to it. Just a thought.
