Pls remove

It is a US Model 1842 musket. Never flintlock.
It has been somewhat "restored". The sling is 20th century Lee Enfield.

Is this something worth having appraised and if so any idea on the value or place to have an appraisal done?

It is a pretty awesome feeling gun I’d love to take it out and shoot it :)

I just helped a widow get $1100 for her 1842 Springfield in very good usable condition. Yours could be worth a tad more, but there are a lot out there.
