Hi,am back from the range 100 yard 8x11 target 6 inches grouping, bit hight rom center at least i hit the target,it funny to shoot a small rifle like that.
I have to work on the manlichter sring and the clip,to make it work better, for the rest everything ok.
sorry if my spelling is wrong,i tried my best to explaine
From the beginningfirst i take pictures of the rifle all number mark,stamp,ext..
i do some reserche on the net,and cgn member information.
with the diagram of the rifle,am looking for parts, also looking for the the original color.
when i got everything, dissasembled the rifle, clean the metal with fine wire brush,in the same time on the stock i put paint stripper, let it soak, after removed the paint with plastic scraper.i check all stamp on the stock and protected with aluminium tape over.
with steel wool 000,and 400 sand paper i scub all the paint and big ding, not all of them,i have to keep the look of 100 years old rifle.
after the cleaning and small repaired(use resin for crack)steel all cold bluing,i know its not the best but work good for me.
the wood i use different type of stain(lite oak, dark oak, mixed)i tried different way to apply, depend how i feel that day,,,,
finaly danish oil coat, first i let it soak for 30 minute, make it get in the wood, clean it and apply again, and again until you are happy with the result.
after put it together, let site in the safe for a day,and check again the result, you might change some thing,
I like bying a rifle with no job to do on it ,but.......a crappy one could be very fun to do,you never know...thank i hoppe that help
