With 19" barrel, a cheap scope, from the rest i can put all the holes inside the soccer ball size target at 200 yards anything further and it becomes a gamble. So practically i think VZ58 is 200 yards rifle with any barrel. With shorter barrel there is no loss of accuracy, but you need to compensate for the bullet drop. There was a study done where they took 24" barrel and kept cutting it by 2" i think, and the conclusion was that if crown re-made properly there was no loss in accuracy at all, but the velocity and therefore the trajectory drops of course. With Vz58 as was already said there is a big drop in velocity if barrel cut shorter than 12" much so with 5.56 than with 7.62 ( on one of the forums i saw a table were people were testing ARs of different barrel lengths).
