Pls remove

Use a small allen key to align all the holes and tap the pin in from the other side with a very small hammer.
Be gentle and slighly start the pin into the switch before you start, as you tapp the pin through you push out the allen key.
 
Did you remove the set screw that keeps the OEM saftey in place for the Canadian versions of the 858 platform?

Thanks.. I'll try the allen key method to make sure we're aligned. The first time around , I thought the pin's metal would be softer than the axis.

Btw. if I loose the pin, any other substitutes that can be used as a pin?
 
I am preaty sure Stevo with his vast knowledge can answer this question for you.
Although I would contact the manufactor for a replacment or head of to a local hardware store to find a replacement.

An appropriately sized roll pin would work the best. Just like the one that came with it. You can find them at any fastener supply place.
