Plugging a Benelli SL80 121

Likely going duck hunting this Saturday - yes, I'm a complete newbie.

How the heck can I get into the magazine to plug it to 2 shells? I have the shottie apart, but I don't have the manual as this is my buddie's gun which he has left me to babysit for the last 12 years!

I never had the need to use it, so this issue never came up.

I just can't see how to get the follower out, from either end. Is the magazine supposed to unscrew from the "receiver"?

Any thoughts?

There should be a 'knob' on the front of the mag tube that screws off. You might have a removable internal cap insde the tube as well. Take it all off, remove the spring and put in the plug. You don't need the original plug either. A piece of dowel will do nicely.

Sun, thanks for the suggestions. I have removed everything that will come loose, but I am still stymied to get into the actual magazine.

Aha!

That would explain why there is a hole in the end of the forend retaining screw! That makes the removal of the mag unnecessary; it's sure on there tight anyway.
