Weatherby SA08 is hard to beat for the price. I own and love my Beretta A400 but I have 2 Weatherby's and love them as much -- they work every bit as good as the Beretta and if ejecting spent hulls count, SA- 08 wins hands down -- extra chokes are easy to get as they tale Beretta mobile. For most use, other than 3" magnum shells you should use the light load piston.
Luck!

Im parcial to these for the reliablity of the inercia drive, like benelli, but prove me wrong. Diff in price, stoeger, 700, everything else is just around +/- 100 from my $1000 Buget.

Trust me, a 3.5" gas gun is going to more reliably cycle light 2 3/4" loads than the inertia driven one. The Stoeger M2000 (the 3" version of the M3500) has had serious break-in problems, and will not reliably cycle light 2 3/4" loads. I can only imagine the problems that the 3.5" M3500 has!! I've seen 3.5" Benelli SBE2s and Vincis jam time and time again at the range, when my 3.5" Silver keeps plugging 7/8oz loads without a hiccup.

Just something to think about.

Thanks for all the input. I took into consideration that has been mentioned. I know lots of peeps say 3 1/2 unnessesary, but in case, its alot of money for most good shotys, so might as well get 3 1/2 as i do on occasion think i may want to have the option.

As for the SHotys them selves, I shouldered alot last night at a local shop, Browning maxus, didnt feel right, SX3 in 3", felt good, lined up nice on the sights. Beretta A300, same felt good, lined up sights real nice. Most felt real goon inthe hands and fire position. I did however try the Versa mas, loved it, almost as much as the SBE2, but for price, quality and versitility, i think Versa is the way im aiming.

Does any one know if the Sports man Versamax is that much different from the normal versa max, minus the sights and more chokes, does that $ value make up for the gun performance, also, do all versamax guns use same plateform, such as nordic mag tube extention, charging handle and stuff like that?
