1: What about the other side of the blade? You have shown us the "38" side but there will be something on the other side as well.

2. Looks like ISSUE marks on the beat-up one, but I can't read them. VH, perhaps? Can anyone make them out? Could be a REAL story.
 
The Vicker's made Pattern 1907 Bayonets have the edge of the clearing hole (not oil hole) smoothed off like that, so could be a Vickers, shame its been scrubbed.
