PMAG Gen 3 Issues

Hey Guys!
I'm looking at picking up some mags for my new AR. I've read in some places about some people having issues regarding mags not dropping free. Has anybody experienced this with the Gen 3 mags?? If it matters my rifle is a Daniel Defense.

With G3 pmags, its not a matter of them being to spec, it will either be your rifle or more than likely the rivit job on the mag.

Got no issues with Gen3 on my ARs lowers ie DD, Noveske, Spikes and Rainier.

2 out of 3 of my Gen3 pmags work fine.

I literally spent 30 seconds and filed the rivet down a very small amount on the 3rd one and it works great now. This was on my Colt Canada but I doubt DD is any different.

I first had to file the rivets to get them to drop free .Then after drilled them out and replaced them anyhow as I had to remove some material from the follower .
It was pinned to hold 5 rounds ...not 5.5 . They wouldnt seat the loaded mag with the bolt forward .
Sold them cheap just to get rid of them .....

I have a DDM4A1 and the G2 and G3 mags drop free and seat of a closed bolt

Had some issues dropping free with my DD V11 when it was new but they seem to function fine now.

I buy all my PMags from Questar (I bought 15 or 20 over the past five years), their rivet job is always outstanding.

I have had a number that will not drop free due to the rivet. It appears that some have the back rib ground down before riveting. These mags have the rivet at the identical elevation to the mag rib allowing obstruction free dropping. However Others are riveted on top of the rib creating a pinch point in the mag well.

I can't even guess how many thousands of these mags we've sold since I started at Questar 5 years ago, both the Gen 2 and Gen 3. I could count of one hand how many we've had come back, and that's including all issues that mags CAN have. If you have any questions, feel free to call me at the office.
