So how big does a community have to be before it is ok to make money off of someone else?
If a guy sells a gun for less than he bought it for, no one screams the buyer ripped him off. If you don't like the going rate, don't buy them and stick to LAR mags. Eventually the price may fall again, or maybe it will go up and $40 bucks a mag will seem like a deal.
Roll of the dice.
Common sense state that an used item will always be cheaper than a new one (unless it is a rare or discontinued item).
So how is the buyer ripping off the seller?
That is EE for you. People selling their stuff overpriced.
Just wait until a dealer has some stock and buy some at decent price or wait a couple months until this madness in the state is over.

I'm saying it goes both ways. If a seller sells something for less than market value, then the buyer is said to have got a good deal.
If the seller sells something for more than what he paid for it, then the seller is getting ripped off? Because the seller got forced to pay more? Because there aren't any to be had anywhere else?
New or used, if you can't find something, because it is rare or discontinued, the price will go up. Seen any $100 SKS-Ds lately? How about a Valmet Hunter or M78 for anything near what they went for new?
That is capitalism folks... freedom. The same thing we claim we should have more of as gun owners. Just don't expect it to be a free ride, or a bargain all the time.
You still ignored the fact that use items sell for cheaper than new items. Also, even if the item is rare or discontinued...and no body wants it, it is worth nothing.
There is a difference between rare item and jacking up the price and that is why people are saying.
Pmags and the rest of the mags in the States went up in price because they will be discontinued if the ban is passed.
But in Canada, the 30 rounders pinned to 5 rounds will not be discontinued. People are panic buying or hoarding all the mags in Canada because they know they can make profit later. There is a HUGE difference between what is happening here and the States.
If there is a ban in Canada, the price of that item will usually drop and not raise...because we do not have the grandfathering clause.
If used items can't be found, they will sell for more than they were selling for new. That is what is happening on thee EE and is the reason this thread exists.
Unless a ban prohibits export of said mags across state or federal borders. Then watch mags values go through the roof. And you won't be getting any PMAGS or USGI mags from any US source. Such has been brought up by anti-gun US politicians as a possibility, non export.
Maybe it will happen, maybe it won't. If you think its gouging then don't buy. Stick to the sellers wanting to sell for $15 bucks a mag. That guy only had 200 messages in his inbox in 24 hours. Good luck.
wasn't this covered once already? The only way to prevent it is to not support those selling PMAGS at ridiculous prices. If your willing to pay the crazy prices for PMAGs then go for it, if not just hang tight and wait, or substitute. Supply and demand is a simple concept, and is obviously in effect here... but when there is an increase in, substitutes will enter the market, and prices eventually settle again. For example the MSAR mags being sold by several CGN venders.

Its even in the product description: "These mags break the monopoly in Canada for a quality magazine."
13.99 a mag on cheaperthandirt.com weeks ago , now 99.99
Supply & Demand....
You don't like it....Donate more to the gun orgs and get Politically active, if you are already doing that than good on you....
Thats called blatant price gouging, nothing else.
