Pmags

WTF. All joking aside...I feel like crying. I have no problems waiting a few months for things to come in, put 2+ years, JEBUS!

Should have done that a week ago....back of the line you go . :)

It's an imaginary line anyway...

Damn, I think I can make some real cash here. $700 Norc M4, 5 Pmags for $300. Must sell togther. :)

I don't think you'll have a problem finding a buyer...

Yes, years - not months - is the new reality.

I think that for most people buying up Pmags it's just a knee jerk reaction.
For others who go shooting in the USA the difference between having a 30 round mag dated 12/12 and 3/13 could be the difference between being able to use them unpinned (while in the USA) as 30 round magazines or not.

Quick couple of questions because I don't wanna spend hours sifting through thousands of pmag availability/pricing threads.

-What are p-mags? Polymer mags?

-Why are they so popular? What makes'em superior to regular mags?

Thanks in advance guys.

Yes, polymer magazines made by Magpul. As I understand it they became popular due to their feed lips not bending in the same manner as the aluminum GI mags. Also, being polymer they lend themselves a bit easier to being shaped to fit rifles that might have tighter than normal magwells. Also, supposedly they can be loaded to full capacity and lock on a closed bolt easier than a GI mag can, which can allow for an additional 2-3 or even 4 cartridges per round, for anywhere from 14 to 28 increase for total loadout of 7 mags. I've heard of some instructors telling students to only load anywhere from 26-29 into a standard 30 round GI mag, otherwise it can be ungodly trying to ram the mag into the rifle.

Also, they are ribbed for pleasure, and supposedly can provide a better grip when covered in mud and blood and beer.

Mostly that's all sourced from internet rumors. I've never tried the aluminum GI mags, so I cannot provide a direct comparison.

True. And they'll load on a closed bolt fully-loaded.

Also true (and the new PMAG M3 is comprised of a different polymer that has more texture to it, as well as additional ribbing for our pleasure).

PMAGs rule. There is no substitute.

Thanks for the explanation. Not jumping on the bandwagon yet.. Gonna play with my LAR mags when I start shootin' paper poodles since I already picked up a half-dozen, but will keep an eye on the pmags once our idiotic mag-neutering laws get stricken.

Good to hear this nonsense is dying off then...

Anyone look at the Tango Down mags, apparently their new generation mag is awesome and comparable to the best.

Its funny. You seemed like the person who enjoyed seeing the high prices so you could see people pay silly amounts for them still on EE..... ;)

I never sold them for that price, I was joking, I wouldn't do that too people that never got a chance to buy them when they could for a decent price.
My threads were in the EE were a joke, some people did not get the sarcasim, that being said the other guy who I will not mention was not joking, he was just pissed that the other dealers had cut him out of the busness by bringing in Magpul Pmags for a decent price of there true value.

That being said I actually gave a few away to some buddies that were in need.

Regardless Gravel can get them in no matter what happens in the US, so we are still good, but supply might be slow....
