PMC .223 vs Ar15 issues?

So I bought a case of PMC .223 (NOT 5.56) when CanAm had it on sale.

Recently been having many failure to feeds using a set of brand new RRA LAR magazines. I'm talking like one FTF per magazine every mag and sometimes 5 to 8 rounds will FTF. Emailed the manufacturer and they suggested that PMC ammunition is "light" and thus short stroking my bolt. I haven't had any issues with the same ammunition in MagPul 5/30 Pmags or standard 5/30 USGI mags.

Rifle is a basically new (-600rnds) and always cleaned after use DPMS Oracle. Never had a malfunction until these RRA magazines.

Opinions/experience with the PMC ammo or this issue?

My 11.5" CAR-15 eats PMC ammo like candy and groups great, it's not the ammo.

I have had the same issue with my LAR mags in. In both my high end rifles DD and knights I have a few of these mags and only 1 gave a problems I fixed it bye shooting it with a 8 1 Oz slugs from my 870... it presents no problems any more. And all of its brothers were witness and the have all acted accordingly.

Some LAR mags just don't feed well, sell them and use something else

Mark your mags to see if it is just one particular mag that is causing your problems. Best of luck!

If they are the aluminum mags, you might be able to fix the problem by filing them with a small round file in a couple of spots.

At the very front of the feed lips there is usually a somewhat rough part that catches the rims of the cases as they are pushed out of the magazine and causes jams.

At the front of the magazine on the inside surface where the bullet tips occasionally ride.

PMC .223 is pretty under powered as well. Known issues on carbines with gas ports sized for 5.56 pressures.

Tried that. It's all of them. Some are worse than others though.

Hmm. I'll see if I can find some 5.56 and load up a few magazines.
