I bought a whole bunch of PMC .308 to feed my new semi, and I'm just wondering if it's worth keeping the brass for reloading.

I don't currently reload (This could/may change), but I tend to hang onto brass from the bigger calibers to sell or give away to people that would have a use for it, but that's typically american factory brass (Federal, Winchester, Remington, etc).

Should I bother separating out the PMC stuff, or just throw it in the metal recycle bin at work?

Only PMC cases I have reloaded so far are 9mm.
No issues whatsoever.

Clean, trim, load and fire one 4 or 5 times and see how they hold up.

i have reloaded thousands of pmc 9mm, 45acp and .223 without issue. havent tried the .308 yet but i do have a couple hundred of them to try when the time comes.

I've only reloaded the .223, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with the brass. It seems the same quality as any other brand like Remington, Winchester etc.

completely useful stuff, as long as you're not expecting Lapua-grade brass.

Some might not like it for M305... it's completely good tho.

What would be wrong with it for the M305? I have around 1k of it that I bought back 8 years ago or so specifically because at the time it was thought of as tough brass suitable for semis.

Some people say 'stick to military brass' because the oversize chambers can promote case failure early, or even immediately depending on who's talking. ...it would likely lead to shorter brass life than in a nicer rifle...

Note that I am not one to not use what brass I have to handload for my M14-type rifle, and it definitely has a big chamber. I simply go in knowing to expect short brass life.

There ya go! Worth at least 2 cents I reckon.

eta: aw shoot I quoted the wrong poster to whom I was replying! I'll leave it to you sharp folk to figure it out.

Noticed various tight primer pockets on once fired PMC 7 mag brass........fairly thick brass.......Harold

Well then, that's fairly definitive, haha. (Is "fairly definitive" an oxymoron? Kind of like definitely maybe? Oh well)

I shall keep said PMC brass. Thanks for the replies.

The nice thing about PMC .223 brass is that the primers aren't crimped in. On the 4th hot loading for some and it's holding up well with between .003" and .010" case growth after each firing.
