PMC X-TAC 5.56 62gr FMJ, 1000 rounds

Sarcasm detector fail?

It is green tipped M855, has a steel core penetrator… don’t worry you don’t want any ;)

Perhaps, but reading his post again, I still can't decide... mmm, maybe you're right, my dectector has been a little wonky lately. I bought these two girls drinks the other night, and it turns out they were lesbians, because neither seemed to like me. You'd think I would have picked up on that too. ;)

Apparently your ###dar is broken too…

This is not the ammo you are looking for…

It depends on the AR-15/M-16 series as it relates to bullet weight. I cannot speak to specific experience with current PMC’s version of M-855 62gr round with penetrator, however, std M-855 or SS-107 was intended with 1/7 twist barrels and it is OK with 1/9 twist.

As for 55gr FMJ, usually copper jacketed, lead core also known as M-193, it is intended for the original 1960s 1/12 twist barrels . It is generally OK with 1/9 as well

If you mix the groups, say M-855 or SS-109 in a 1/12 twist barrel, accuracy goes right in the toilet and it unsatisfying and a waste of ammunition. I tried it once and I stopped. No fun with a 1/12 twist “shotgun” at 300 yards

Hope this helps. With 5.56mm bullet type/weigh and barrel twist is a huge accuracy factor
Seriously guy?

Not a good idea to run these in your AR. The 55gr FMJ will run better.

There is a reason the price is low.

Let others buy them and get poor results.

LOL...

still dont get it...cheap stuff does the same

Simply put, it is what the military uses… Google M855...

I have an ACOG TA31-CH which is BDC'd out to 600m. I used it on a Swiss Arms (19.7 inch 1:10 twist) with superb accuracy out to the 550m gong using both 55 gr and 62 gr. It now sits on my SR-15 (16" barrel 1:7 twist) which I can't stretch out anymore (stupid f*cking restricted laws) I try to shoot green tips exclusively through both but here is the info I based my sighting in on:

From the AR forum

For a Flattop 16" firing M855
Sight in 1" high at 100. You'll be a half inch high at 200 0.5" low at 300 and under 2" off BDC out to 600.

For a Flattop 20" firing M855
Sight in 0.8" high at 100 (or sight in at 60). You'll be 0.5" high at 200 and then dead on the BDC to 500 where you'll be 3" high and 600 you'll be 8.5" high.

Nevermind, saw new pre-order thread.

*Edit* The old pre-order thread..

Sigh..
