well saw the results of some poachers near the family farm on the weekend.

there is no season for moose in this area and its all private lands, (all farms) with a few clumps of bushes in the area. There was a nice little bull moose shot in the ass end breaking it's spine.

the RCMP were called and they had to put the moose down. Sad as it was a nice little bull.

Why is it so hard for some people to just follow a few simple rules, like buying tags, hunting in zones that have open seasons, and if you can't find private land to go hunting there is lots of crown land.

its called common sence and some hospitals forgot to hand it out with birth certificates! it is moose season here this week for bull only, sadly a cow and calf Ive been seeing daily out were we are logging is now just a calf, crows flying around the bottom of the old cutblock and I dont have the patience to wonder down and find the gutpile, lil bugger wont make the winter with the wolves we have now, but hey some retard has moose meat to take home

It looks like they werent poachers but worse. I think a poacher would like to retrieve the animal if at all possible, unless scared off.?
With a spine shot the animal cant go far but the shooter abandoned it.?

What we have here is a crazy shooter. One who just wants to kill... not a good thing.

Ain't that the truth. Last week I was hunting calf Moose in an area I only have a calf tag for. I saw 2 bulls including one that I got 10 yards from and watched for 5 minutes. When I went back and told some people all I got was "Why didn't you shoot it and throw someones (out of WMU) bull tag on it?!?!

Sickening

No different than the people who won't plate their vehicle, or get a drivers license and get caught or in an accident, then blame the cops for giving them a fine.

It is all about responsibility. Many people can't handle having it.

As for the "shooter" , it could be a hunter, poacher, someone just out shooting, pissed of land owner, the list is endless.Just a jackass who isn't really an adult yet.

You really want to know why? Because we tolerate them and allow them to lurk among us as fellow hunters, that they are not. There are people on this very website who defend their actions. There is a thread running on this issue right now. Click on it and you will see what I mean.

Yep. Makes me wonder sometimes. Especially when some of the upstanding members of the site stand up for these idiots.

Discusting....about all I have to say about poachers.

Yes, and they lurk amongst us!
There is a rash of Moose shootings going on right now in BC. Moose are being shot in the head, cow with calf young bulls and the CO's are doing a great job investigating.
There are some charges against known shooters, but the senseless killings are still taking place.
I only hope all parties are eventually caught and hte names published for public knowledge.
Tight Groups,
Rob

There is some pretty discusting actions going on all over. This past week I was hunting in North Western Ontario and found 3 deer carcasses with heads missing (two seperate places in the same WMU). These were reported to the CO's via my outfitter.

A few years ago a couple of Americans in that Same Area (Nestor Falls) were caught taking heads from bucks and sneaking them back to the US .

According to a CO I talked to, this is the toughest poaching crime for them to investigate. Usually the shot is quickly taken out of the window of a vehicle leaving no real clues.
