Podolsk SVT-40 at leverarms

I have 1 SVT and know a bit about them but what is a podolsk SVT , just a different factory? Do you mind saying what they are asking, because I gave my first one to my son and need to replace it! Thanks for your time!
 
Podolsk Arsenal only manufactured svt40's for a short
Period before the plant was evacuated...so production numbers are very low and this would be a highly collectible rifle for those that care about such things. The AVT40 was the selectable full auto version of the svt and the stock was heavier and of higher quality. Leverarms also has a selection of standard svt40s, then a "hand select" option for a few bucks more where you can choose the type of stock, muzzle brake, Arsenal and year. I picked up a Podolsk just cuz....neat to own a rare model of the gun is all.
 
I'll try and post a pic once it arrives, soaked in Cosmo no doubt....but dismantling and soaking a svt in mineral spirits is part of the fun!

Edit, if Leer can get these in albeit at a premium, why can't any of our sponsors,, I would rather buy from a sponsor for sure, it if they don't have any or are asking crazy money, then what choice do you have!

I remember picking up Podolsks at WSS for 299 a year ago.......450$ is a very good price though, all things considered. Wish I could look at them!
 
Damn you Irons! I can not afford any more guns right now, but.....a Podolsk SVT you say? I hope mine is in good shape, fingers-crossed it's something extra special!

Jeez, between waiting for this now, along with an 858....it's like Christmas Eve x1000000!
 
Buying yourself a present is always a good idea, even if you don't have the money! Apparently the votes are dark but good rifling. Fingers crossed I get a nice one. Will try and figure out how to post pics once if arrives. Got the "order shipped" email 10 mins ago.

Picture they were using was a stock photo I gather. Phoned today to see if the pic represented the actual rifles. Seems they're the standard arsenal refurb :(...ep'd serials, plum bolt, and completely reblued. Guy pulled the photo down pretty quick after. Still worth it for the price though...

Heavier stocks appeared before AVT production.
 
And consider Marstar was selling the Podolsks for 550-625 plus taxes/shipping. I'd say this is a good deal......but omg they sure have gone up in the span of 2 years.
