Podolsk SVT-40 at leverarms

Yedee, let me know if you want some pics or feedback on what they look like! I'm heading there tomorrow morning.

It appears that Longshot84 has handpicked and acquired some rifles for me... EMT is on the way and I'm hoping to have these soon to get a closer look at them. Really not into SVT's that much but I couldn't resist a rare one. More interested in the VZ24 Mauser.

I called and ordered one. The guy said that the wrong pic was posted that's why it was yanked. He assures me they are in excellent condition and won't sell crap due to their reputation.

I was really tempted when I seen the VZ24's too, but I wasn't sure of the condition and live a little too far away to check them out. In the end I threw the dice on the Podolsk, hopefully end up with a nice example, it should be here in the next hour or two.

Your VZ has some really nice figure in the wood. I'm a sucker for tiger-stripes, if I'd have seen that one first it wouldn't be yours right now! ;)

So all the Podolsk are gone...

Did the Czech's use beech on these?

Just picked up my Podolsk and had a quick look-over. Happy I got an SVT, yes. Happy I got a Podolsk, yes. Happy about the general quality of this particular firearm, meh.

It's a '41, has the 2-port muzzlebrake, and is covered in cosmo. Didn't see any rust anywhere but won't know until a proper clean-up is done. I thought the bolt was painted black like everything else until I looked really, really closely, and it's the darkest plum bolt I think I've ever seen!

The stock is in poor shape, IMO. There are 5 separate spots where they did a repair to the stock by cutting out and inserting a piece of wood that's about 1cm x 4cm, and a couple of the "repairs" look like they're going to need repairing.

Well, I always wanted an SVT and now I've got my piece of history. On to the next impulse buy!

Podolsk SVT is in the trunk of the car, sort of nervous now to open it lol! Told the guy on the phone I wanted an AVT stock, blah blah blah and he said no problem.......now to see what I actually got. Will post pics of the good, or bad, or ugly.

Every time I see this post I go and put a svt in the cart. But by the time I go to checkout I always remember I end up selling svts ha-ha. Time to debate again.

We are watching in real time the end of the era of SVT-40s in Canada. As soon as Lever Arms regular SVTs are gone there will be only second-hand market.

And I got my foot in the door just in time, thank god! It's a very nice addition to my burgeoning Com Bloc collection despite it being an arsenal refurb.

As Mr. Chaucer famously said, all things must come to an end.

It wasn't long ago that people thought it nonsensical when others said that the ready supply of SVT-40s would come to an end. I wonder how much longer we have for SKS-45s? Their prices have started to creep up.

It comes in waves
Up before 2008 there was no russian sks in Canada
Svts were 500 plus tax too
So wait for next wave
